I honestly wasn't sure what my cat was going to think of this toy, but she absolutely loves it. Once I turned it on and it started wiggling and moving around on its own, she immediately wanted to chase it. I really like that it doesn't just sit in one place because the movement keeps her interested and gives her something to actually chase and pounce on. The little worm attachment is cute and seems to make it even more fun because it moves around unpredictably. It's been especially nice when I need to keep her entertained for a while but don't have time to constantly play with her myself. She will follow it around, bat at it, and try to catch it. It definitely gets her moving! Plus the sounds it makes, makes it more interesting to chase for her!So far it's been a really fun addition to her toys, and I'm glad I got it. OMG!! Even my blind cats are happy and loving this! Thank god they don’t know the reality of having to charge it first, or when it needs recharging, or I’d have a bunch of whining coming from them like kids :P! Such a cute and non obnoxious chirp too and comes with an extra tail! While I can’t say for sure yet how long the battery will last for each use or long term, it’s entertaining them and if it does that- it’s money well spent!! Beware: It likes to head straight for underneath sofa’s, but I saw it mostly twists and turns its way out. I tried uploading video but it keeps saying something went wrong- sorry!

I bought this for my large cat who needs a little extra exercise. He follows it around, but doesn't really attack it. I've only had it a day, so he may be getting used to it. I bought the blue one, but if I bought another one, I'd purchase red. I think it would be easier to find the ball when the battery dies. Fluorescent colors would definitely be easier to find. The "tails" that were included are various lengths and colors (orange, bright green and blue). I have the orange one on the ball so I can find it easily. It takes about an hour to charge and the charge lasts about an hour. We have hard floors and an area rug with a very short nap. The ball runs over both surfaces quite easily. I've only used the slow mode, which to me, doesn't seem too terribly slow. I like that fact that it can be muted. The directions for controlling the ball are easy to understand. I think it's worth the price.

Amended review: I first said it got itself out from under furniture and it does periodically. But more often than not it gets under stuff and stops. In my case, it makes a bee line for the sofa, hits the wall behind it and stops. This is not good because it means I have to get on the floor and use a long handled device to get it out from under there. Once out it will turn around and go right back under. So I'm downgrading this to the 4. If you have a room with minimal furniture it would be the perfect toy.I should say first that it took a little bit for her to warm up to it. She's a shy cat, only a year old, and easily startled so having something dashing around was a bit much for her at first. But it didn't take long before she was chasing it and having a blast. I did remove the little eyes on the tail (which were glued on and easily small enough to swallow), as they could be easily swallowed and, of course, were the first thing she tried to remove. So I'd suggest removing them before giving the toy to the cat to avoid them pulling the tiny eyes off and swallowing them.It's not overly loud but does bang into walls and furniture so that can be loud and surprising when it does that. For a human, the repetitive motions would be boring but the cat doesn't seem to mind. Although she isn't overly interested in the stationary movements of the toy. But when it takes off she's right after it.I was skeptical at first after reading the reviews but thought I'd give it a try. After three or four days of use it's still going strong and still keeps the cat busy. I have it set at the lowest speed which is really fast so I don't know that I'll use the other two speeds. In any event I'm very glad that I made the decision to try this toy.
